Joanne spent two summers at YMCA Camp Yomechas in Massachusetts. Though never progressing past guppy stage in swimming, she nevertheless has many fond memories of catching frogs and turtles. A passionate environmental advocate, Joanne has 15 years of experience in nonprofit management as well as environmental sustainability engagement and program development. She developed the U.K.’s first joint water and energy efficiency residential engagement program and the U.K.’s first professional qualifications in water efficiency auditing and retrofitting. More recently, Joanne piloted the water-saving Conservation Generation Camp Program, which won American Camp Association’s Eleanor Eells National Award for Program Excellence. She received has BA in Political Science from Boston University and an MA in Development and Planning from University College London. She’s a certified Project Management Professional.
